KEY FAE
1’ tall, winged humanoids, related to pixies and elves. They are shy, but driven by a funny obsession for locks, which they secretly observe and playfully tamper with.

▶ Surprise: Never surprised.
▶ Magic powers: Usable once per day:
a. Hold portal: Magically locks a portal (door, window, etc) for 1d6 turns. Knock spell opens it instantly. Creatures with 3+ HD can force it open in one round.
b. Knock: Opens a stuck, barred, or locked portal and magically held doors. Can open known secret doors.
▶ Theft: Sneak up on PCs, snatch keys, and run away. 1-in-4 chance per round of dropping key if chased.
▶ Pranksters: Even if attacked, key faes have no interest in killing, merely in making practical jokes.
