GIANT VENUS FLYTRAP
Large, carnivorous plants. Dwell in tropical forests among other plants, waiting for prey.

▶ Camouflage: Almost indistinguishable from other plants, 20% chance of being detected.
▶ Jaws: 1d6+2 jaws; each can attack once per round.
▶ Trap: On a successful bite attack, a single jaw locks onto a victim:
a. Up to dwarf-sized victims: May attack the jaw with a dagger at –4 to hit; drown after 2d4 rounds; body digested in 1d4+6 days after death.
b. Larger victims: Inflicts 1d4 damage per round, dettaches after 1d6 turns.
▶ Attacking the jaws: AC 7 [12], 8hp (separate hp pool each). Attacks from outside: inflicts half damage to the victim and half to the jaw. If reduced to 0hp, the jaw is disabled and can no longer attack or trap victims.
▶ Jaw regeneration: Disabled jaws regenerate in two weeks.
▶ Upon death: Any trapped victims will be released in 1d4+1 rounds.
▶ Vulnerable to fire: Suffer an extra point of damage per die of fire damage.
▶ Treasure: Hidden near the roots. Sometimes the flytrap is planted as a guardian.
